Officials said that there is an effect of El Nino in the state of Andhra Pradesh. Officials brought this information to the attention of AP Minister Kinjarapu Atchennaidu. He said that El Nino has affected crops on 2.44 lakh hectares. He said that there is a 54.2 percent deficit rainfall across the state. He explained that the crops in 284 mandals and 1792 RSK villages in the state have been affected.
Officials said that crops in 244443 hectares have been affected to varying degrees. They said that there is moisture stress in 192387 hectares. They said that crops have wilted in 41474 hectares and crops have dried up in 10582 hectares. Minister Atchannaidu has ordered to protect crops under moisture stress. The minister has issued orders to provide protective measures with the available water resources.
