Prime Minister Narendra Modi has once again demonstrated his diplomatic style and unwavering energy. The 18th BRICS Summit, which concluded successfully at the Bharat Mandapam in Delhi, reflected his commitment. In just two and a half days from Friday afternoon to Sunday afternoon, Prime Minister Modi demonstrated his diplomatic momentum by holding 15 bilateral meetings.
Apart from these official meetings, he also participated in several pull-aside (informal) meetings with several world leaders and heads of international organizations in between the BRICS Summit sessions and outreach meetings. Prime Minister Modi began this diplomatic marathon with talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday afternoon. On the same evening, he held separate meetings with Iranian President Masoud Peshmerga and United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.
Modi started the day with talks with Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali at Hyderabad House on Saturday morning, and then met Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed, and Vietnamese Prime Minister Le Minh Hung. Later, he participated in the BRICS summit and held a key bilateral meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping. As part of the summit, he also visited the 'India Innovates' exhibition and participated in programs like planting saplings with the leaders.
The series of Prime Minister's meetings did not stop on Sunday too. After meeting the leaders of BRICS partnership and outreach countries, he held bilateral talks with the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, the President of the Philippines, the President of Egypt, the President of South Africa, the President of Burundi, the Vice President of Nigeria, and the Vice President of Uganda. Overall, Prime Minister Modi's initiative at the BRICS summit and the series of meetings he held have once again made clear India's determination to strengthen relations with the world.
