BC Welfare Minister Savita said that the goal of the Andhra Pradesh coalition government is to ensure a dignified life for the backward classes. She said that the government is working towards economic, political and social recognition for the BCs. She said that this recognition is possible only with CM Chandrababu Naidu. An awareness seminar on the BC Protection Act was organized at Gollapudi BC Bhavan. Minister Savita attended the program as the chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister Savita said that they are keeping the promise made by Minister Nara Lokesh during the Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections. At that time, he promised to bring and implement the BC Protection Act, and he said that the law is going to be brought and implemented to this extent. With this, he praised the state of Andhra Pradesh for implementing the BC Protection Act for the first time in the country. He warned that according to the law, if BCs are insulted in the name of caste or profession or are expelled from the community, they will be severely punished. He said that special courts will be set up in the districts and rules have been made to complete the investigation of cases within two months. The minister said that they are trying to ensure that the BC Protection Act stands in the courts.
Minister Savita said that the opinions of MLAs, MLCs and MPs have already been taken on the BC Protection Act. She revealed that opinions have been taken from the chairmen of corporations representing 156 BC castes now. She was furious that the previous Jagan government had reduced the 34 percent BC reservation in local body elections to 24 percent. She said that the coalition government would implement 34 percent reservation in the upcoming local body elections. She expressed confidence that the coalition would win in those elections. She said that 90 percent of the election promises have already been implemented and the rest will be implemented soon. On the other hand, Minister Savita said that Adarana 3.0 will be implemented.
