Goenka believes that India has the best vegetarian cuisine in the world and there is nothing wrong in introducing it to the world. He reminded that the dinner was not an ordinary meal, but included many diverse dishes like Khandvi from Gujarat, mushroom galouti from Awadh, Guchi, a specialty of Kashmir, and southern porial. Along with these, he explained that desserts like old Delhi style fruit cream and jalebi were also part of the menu.

Earlier, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi criticized the central government on the 'X' platform on this issue. He questioned why almost 80 percent of the country is non-vegetarian, ignoring the most delicious Indian non-vegetarian dishes and giving priority to only vegetarian food. Harsh Goenka's response has gained importance in the wake of Rahul's criticism. Harsh Goenka said in his post that it would have been great if he had had the opportunity to attend the dinner with the most unique dishes.
