The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has made a major breakthrough in the death case of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput's former manager Disha Salian. The CBI registered an FIR on Monday on the orders of the Bombay High Court. The inclusion of the names of several prominent people in the case, including Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aditya Thackeray, actress Rhea Chakraborty, and her brother Showik Chakraborty, has now become a sensation.

The FIR registered by the CBI includes the names of key people like Aditya Thackeray and Rhea, along with actors Dino Morea, Suraj Pancholi, former Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, former Home Minister Anil Deshmukh, and former police officers Sachin Waje and Param Veer Singh. They will be questioned on serious charges of criminal conspiracy, destruction of evidence, and falsely promoting suicide. It is noteworthy that the FIR states that the then Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray played a key role in misleading the case and protecting the accused.

Disha Salian died after falling from a building in Mumbai on June 8, 2020. Six days later, on June 14, Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead in his residence. At that time, the Mumbai Police registered Disha's death as an accidental death and later ruled it a suicide. However, the Bombay High Court expressed deep dissatisfaction over the long delay in registering an FIR.

Commenting that the Mumbai Police investigation "raises more doubts than answers", it ordered a CBI probe into the case. Allegations are being made that the then Uddhav Thackeray government tried to cover up the case. Along with them, the CBI will also conduct a thorough investigation into the role of Malwani Police Station officials, the doctors who conducted the post-mortem, forensic staff, and the building's security guards.
