AP Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan congratulated Andhra Pradesh archer Dheeraj Bommadevaru for winning a historic gold medal in the men's recurve category at the 'Archery World Cup Final 2026' held in Saltillo, Mexico. He responded on social media 'X' and said that this victory has marked the beginning of a new chapter in the history of Indian archery.

 

The tweet stated that Dheeraj's journey, which began in Vijayawada as a child and reached the heights of international sports with self-discipline and discipline, will serve as an inspiration to crores of youth in the country. He congratulated Dheeraj for his excellent composure and unerring accuracy in the shoot-off against Japanese player Junya Nakanishi in a highly stressful environment. He praised him for becoming the first Indian male recurve archer to win gold in the World Cup final and proudly hoisting the tricolor flag on the world stage, making India proud.
