• 40 youths from Uddanam area, who went to Malaysia on visiting visas, hoping for foreign jobs and trusting brokers, are stuck there. They are facing hardships as the immigration officials have confiscated their visiting visas. Knowing this, their family members are worried.   • The brokers promised a job in Malaysia and a monthly salary of Rs. 60,000. They said that they would give them a visiting visa now and a working visa after they joined the job. With this, a total of 40 unemployed people from Vajrapukottoor, Mandasa, Kaviti, Ichchapuram and Sompeta mandals paid Rs. 1.75 lakh each to the brokers. They went to Malaysia on a visiting visa on August 12. Although the brokers got them jobs there, some of the companies involved are being detained and questioned by Malaysian immigration officials as they do not have permanent visas. On Thursday, Chokkara Sai, Landa Tarunkumar, Kakthi Saivanshi and Giribabu from Gadur, Onkuluru and Yarramukkam villages were questioned and their visiting visas were seized. Giribabu survived with great difficulty and informed his parents. They said that there are no working visas and there are no jobs available there. The parents of the victims are worried about this. The parents of the victims from Vajrapukotturu mandal on Friday presented their problem to MLA Gauthu Sirisha in Palasa. They asked how much money they had paid to the brokers and the plight of their sons there. The MLA immediately responded to this and informed Union and State Ministers Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu and Atchannaidu. The MLA assured the family members of the victims that arrangements would be made to bring them back from Malaysia.
