The State Disaster Management Authority has announced that there is a possibility of rain in Andhra Pradesh for the next four days. People have been advised to be alert as thunder and lightning are likely to occur in several districts of the state.

According to the assessment of the Disaster Management Authority, moderate rains with thunder and lightning are likely to occur in Vizianagaram, Parvathipuram Manyam, Alluri Seetharamaraju, Kadapa, Annamayya, Chittoor and Tirupati districts

. Similarly, light to moderate rains are likely to occur in Srikakulam, Polavaram, Visakhapatnam, Konaseema, East Godavari, West Godavari, Eluru, Krishna, NTR, Guntur, Markapuram, Prakasam, Nellore, Nandyal and Sri Sathyasai districts, the APSDMA said.

Officials have advised people to take appropriate precautions in the wake of the rains. They have warned that people should not be under trees or in open places especially during thunder and lightning. On this occasion, an appeal was made to seek shelter in safe buildings.
