Bollywood actress Rakul Preet Singh has reacted strongly to the news linking her name to the Income Tax (IT) department raids. Releasing a statement on social media, she clarified that there is no truth in the news and that she has nothing to do with the raids. She expressed her concern that some media houses and online reporters are sensationalizing the news without verifying the facts.

"It is sad that there is a growing trend of sensationalizing the news in some online reporters and some major media houses without verifying the facts. That is why I want to clarify to everyone at once. Those raids are not related to me," Rakul said in her statement. 

Explaining her background.. "I come from an army family. I do not have any godfather in the industry. I have come to this level only through my own hard work. I have been paying taxes regularly since the age of 20 as a law-abiding citizen," she said.

She also denied the allegations of financial irregularities. "I have not been involved in any illegal foreign transactions, either personally or on behalf of any production company. I do not own any benami properties in the country or abroad. No one has ever gifted me any property. My rule is not to accept such expensive gifts," Rakul clarified.

On this occasion, she expressed her dissatisfaction with the media's attitude. "I request all those who published false and malicious articles about me to retract them and clarify the facts. I can understand that there are financial pressures in the media business for any big company. But it should not be done at the cost of facts. It should not be done in a way that damages someone's reputation and livelihood," she advised.

Meanwhile, there were recent reports that the Income Tax Department conducted searches at several places related to actress Rakul Preet Singh, her uncle, film producer Vashu Bhagnani, and Panorama Studios in Mumbai. It is reported that the Mumbai IT department has conducted these searches at about 12 places on allegations of financial irregularities. 

It seems that this investigation is being conducted on allegations of illegally transferring funds abroad in the name of film financing. It is in this context that Rakul has denied the news about her.
