Ranabali' is not just a movie, it is an important chapter in our history that has been forgotten. This is the story of the hardships faced by our ancestors. After watching this movie, everyone will talk about our culture and our history. It gives a great cinematic experience and an emotional high," said hero Vijay Deverakonda. He is the protagonist of the huge pan India movie "Ranabali" directed by Rahul Sankrityan. Rashmika Mandanna is the heroine. This movie, jointly produced by Mythri Movie Makers and T-Series, will be released worldwide on October 16 as a Vijayadashami gift. On this occasion, Vijay Deverakonda spoke to the media and shared interesting facts about the movie. Vijay Deverakonda emotionally explained the historical background behind the movie,
the British exploitation and the deaths of 8 million people
. "Many people still think that the British built railway lines for our good. But that is not true. They did those things to transport our country's wealth, grain and cotton to the ports and loot them. Between 1876-78, more than 80 lakh people died of hunger due to the famine in the Madras Presidency alone. When there was a famine, our kings used to reduce taxes, but the British collected double taxes. Those who could not pay were turned into slaves and made to do hard work in the construction of railway lines and projects. Those who could not work were destined to starve to death. Knowing these facts will break your heart," he said. He believed that it is very important to know our past to prevent such historical mistakes from happening in the future.
Folk heroes are the inspiration for 'Rana Bali'
Vijay said that many heroes who resisted the atrocities of the British have disappeared from history, and their stories have survived in the form of folk tales. "Before the idea of independence for the country, there were many heroes who stood up to the foreigners who were dominating their villages and damaging their self-respect. Many of them sacrificed their lives before the age of 30. Those heroes are the inspiration for the film 'Ranabali'. Director Rahul was inspired by the folk songs sung at a fair in Anantapur. Our film also starts with one such folk song," he revealed.
This is a responsible effort
. After "Pelli Choopulu", Vijay stated that he is releasing the film "Ranabali" with complete satisfaction and taking care of every frame. "We have made this film as a responsibility. If we succeed in this endeavor, more such historical stories will come to light in the future. Otherwise, no one will dare to touch such stories. That is why we have shown it as it is, without creating unnecessary hype in the trailer. The audience will be immersed in that world within five minutes of sitting in the theater," he expressed confidence. He said that the film will be 2 hours and 50 minutes long and will have action scenes as per the story.
Chemistry with Rashmika, key decision on ticket prices
He said that Rashmika is playing the role of 'Jayamma' in the film, and acting together has given the characters more emotional depth. He said that he specially learned the Rayalaseema accent for two to three months for his role, and studying in Puttaparthi made it a little easier. On this occasion, Vijay made a key statement.
"During my college days, I could not watch some films due to high ticket prices. I know that pain. That is why I have not increased the ticket prices of any of my films since 'Ranabali'. Unless I do a film with Rajamouli, my films will have normal rates," he clarified. Vijay concluded that this film will make everyone think, and that it is not just entertainment, but an experience.
